Email on the go

Yes... but most of my stuff is information, as opposed to sending. Roaming costs are scary.

BTW - O2 are doing a data only 12 month contract for £12.77 - which allows you to use the free BES Express software (although you may need help installing it on your Exchange box) - we are getting a lot of business doing Blackberry installs with this tarrif.

My laptop will talk to the web via the 8707g, but tomtom won't !!

Last week Voda offered me second number on my account (*on a month by month contract) to run in the Palm, which works fine apart from having to carry two phones.

Then today after chating to one of our new techies, he had a play and managed to get it working and now at last i have my email on my Nokia 8800.

So i am finally happy...just need to sell the Palm 750V now.

I'm using T-Mobiles Web'n'Walk package which allows "unlimited" email and data usage via GPRS or 3G. Unlimited really means a Gb a month though in their fair terms usage policy.

Sorry to hijack this thread but it saves starting a new one. I am on my third smartphone all of which have used Windoze mobile. I have had consistent problems with the devices hanging of being unable to answer calls due to the software not acting quickly enough to answer the call. I am waiting until the end of the month to change provider and try the Blackberry 8800 as I think that RIM will make a change for the better. Can any of you with the 8800 confirm if the software is more reliable than windows mobile variants?

Yes. It works. Once correctly setup, never had any major issues with Blackberry BES.

BIS - the POP3 (consumer) version is also easy, with all email configuration done via a web site.

Can any of you with the 8800 confirm if the software is more reliable than windows mobile variants?

absolutely, I manage both environments at my company and I've yet to hear a complaint about an 8800. (and they are a fussy bunch)

I also use both mobile 5 and a blackberry and the mobile 5 device stays in the drawer until I need satnav. It does nothing particularly well at all.

Ive yet to have my pearl crash. My 9300 crashed so much that it was never out the bodyshop , my qtec was just pants.

The 8100 pearl is a breath of fresh air as far as a smart phone goes and i can only imagine the 8800 is just as stable.

one problem ive had with my 8800 is the trackball thing, sometimes it refuses to go up and i have to blow in it very hard to get the crap out....
