Glad my 2015 E class is not affected because its not going into a MB dealer as they might do the emmisions update and ruin it

"In rare cases, this could mean that in the event of an accident-related temporary drop in a vehicle's voltage, the communication module might not communicate the correct current position when an emergency call is made/triggered," a spokeswoman for the car-maker said.

Most likely updated thru the air via your inbuilt sim card (if your car has a sim card installed).

Don't think you need to worry, I've read it only affects cars from 2016 to 2021.
And it's done over the air too, only dealer visit is if over the air does not work.

I wonder if there a proper extensive list for all affected models, because mine's a 2017 C200! The list on the BBC website doesn't go into detail.
