Hi
I have a w203 2005 and I want to know if I can get the blank emergency key I have cut as I want to either hide it on the car or keep in my wallet,As I almost locked my keys in the boot while I was out.
I live in the North West Widnes,Warrington area.
I have tried to contact a few I found on yell.co but they have not got back to me,Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

I guess a main dealer would supply one without the fob.

I ordered a complete new key a few years ago (£229) and if I remember correctly the metal blade was approx £15 - £16 of that total.

(No idea if a normal locksmith would have the blanks to cut one).

You will need to show them the V5 and Driving Licence when ordering.

I would think the dealer would be able to help you,but could be expensive. Auto locksmith may be a better bet,why not just take the one out of your spare fob and hide that somewhere on the car.

As above, I can see no reason why an auto locksmith would not be able to cut an emergency key for you.

Timpsons are normally quite good and convenient are are at most larger Tesco stores around here. I'm sure will be able to do it. If they haven't got a suitable blank on stock, they can get one on the next day

Had a plain transponder / chip key done for a car, not Merc. and they were by far the cheapest at £40. Auto locksmiths wanted more than double, some were priced so high, I'm sure they didn't want my business. Didn't need documents either.

Hi
Thanks for all replies but I have tried timpsons and they cant do it,I have not got a spare key at the moment and can not afford one at the moment as the car has got to go in for handbrake repair and new siren + mot and as I am only on a disability pension things are a bit tight.
I have got a blank blade.
Thanks for replies.

It's very strange that Timpsons can't do it. You could always get a blank from ebay and get it cut by a general key cutting outfit

I had a blank "skeleton" key for my W210 from here -

I tried to contact this company on there online forms and emailing them but as usual they could not bother to reply.

Have you asked your local MB dealer how much it will cost?

In case you think you do, you don’t need an alarm siren to pass an MOT.

Such a shame that some businesses have a decent website, but v.poor or non existent online support. I've tried via "contact us" many times over the years with no response whatsoever. A few of those occasions were enquiring about the potential purchase of a new car (on PCP). Obviously didn't need the business.

As regards to the key, I've used them previously on a Subaru laser cut key that wasn't widely available and therefore expensive. They were a fraction of the cost and it worked without any issues once I got my tuner with Ecutek to code it to the car. Delivery time was almost a week.

I've located the invoice for the spare / second key I bought from my main dealer back in 2012, the total, inc VAT was £227 and the metal blade was £32 of that total. (The two parts are listed separately).
Not cheap and way off my guesstimate in my previous post (#2) but well worth the cost for peace of mind and much cheaper than the alternative of finding yourself up a creek without a paddle.

I checked the website that coalville126 posted and couldn't see a blank key the same as the one for my W203, only the flip style looked a little similar.?

As their 'Contact Us' doesn't give a phone number, I did a quick search and found what I hope will help the OP should he wish to ring them.

The seem to sell spare blank keys and will cut one from a photo, however the OP has no key to photograph so his only alternative may be get it cut at a main dealer with the cars VIN.

Key Cutting

Hi all
I have now had a key cut at NW Keys in Bootle and all it cost was £10 as I already had a blank I got from ebay for £4.They were so helpfull.
I did have the emergency in the remote so they could copy,The reason I had to get a spare is my other set fell out of my pocket on the road and a lorry ran over them.
I will get a complete new set from mb when I can afford it.
Thanks for all the reply's and help.
