I have a 2015 A class and this morning I thought it would be fun to try unlocking my car with the emergency key, just to see how it worked.
For those who don't know, the emergency key is a traditional blade style key that slide out from the bottom of the fob. I think it only present on newer keys.
Anyway, I stuck it into the key slot and twisted it clockwise only to trigger the alarm! I hope I didn't look as if I was trying to nick it! Anyway, with the fully functional fob in my hand I was able to quickly shut it up.
Why would this happen?
And - in a real emergency, how do I unlock it without triggering the alarm?
