I bought an AMG back box for my CLK500 a while back and only just got round to getting it fitted today. After hearing others recommend EMP (in Bushey) I had it booked in at 8am today.
They have their priorities right, first thing coffee gets made, TV put on and then we run through exactly what needed to be done.
Resonator to be removed, AMG back box to replace standard CLK one and finally rear valance to be cut/trimmed.
They did a perfect job and checked with me every time a minor adjustment was to be made to ensure I was Ok with it. The AMG box actually sat a bit lower so they weren't happy with the gap at the top between the tips and the valence. I didn't see much of a problem but they wanted it right so shortened the hangers.
So what difference has it made?
Idle, and low revs - no change with windows up or down.
Cruising with windows up - can't tell any difference.
Giving it beans with windows down - nice deeper tone and V8 rumble.
Sound from outside when giving it beans - fantastic (apparently).
Considering I wanted a better sound without compromising comfort inside or waking neighbours at 6am it's worked out perfectly.
If I want more noise then EMP said to take second pair of cats out (which I probably will)
Overall, highly recommend, great guys, high quality work and all done at a reasonable cost.
