Just get that wheel off and take a look at the ones currently fitted, only sure way. A 5-10 min job at most?

You dont have to take the wheel off. Just turn it on to full lock and you can see the hose and connection.

I've got to lazy these days!
it's a bitch to take the wheel off!

I will try this next time I drive my car!

You see the box image, the round head and red plastic cover comes on some version braids!
Does MB use this head on their brakes?

Dont worry about the image on the packaging....this image is on most of their packaging and really has nothing to do with whats in the box.

I'm sure I've got the right braids!
If not I have to sell them.

Today I managed to pull my thumb from my a--!
Wnt to my friendly garage and had my SS lines installed!
A perfect fit and install without any problems!
Parts number for 202 C43 and 210 E55 is GOODRIDGE TME0820-4C
If you buy these order them with SS endings and not zinc plated ends!
SS all the way is tha way!

My hopes were too much because I don't feel any improvement in braking!
My brakes before the swap was great and I get to feel the same with my new set up!
There is a tiny dead feel on the pedal when braking and then my pads bites the rotors!
This dead feel can't it be removed or is it designed that way?
My mechanic bled the brakes from air.
Topped up with lost brake oil.

I have stock rotors
Portersfield R4S streetpads
Goodridge brakelines
fairly new brake oil

My brakes were great before I swapped the lines and with the new lines I still have the same feeling when pressing the brake pedal!
Only positive thing is no bloating rubber brakelines during heavy braking?

Here are some pics:

Fitting Goodridge braided hoses to my 2005 CLK didn't improve the brake feel either, but they look nice.
On the other hand, replacing the 15 year old rubber hoses on the Audi made a marked difference - better feel, less pedal travel.
Ian.

so it's only a placebo effect with braided brakelines?
if my original brakelines were 15 years or more maybe there might be another feeling?
So I only got the same brake feel now as before fitting the new lines.
Same for you!
That's ok if I didn't get any better braking performance, brake lines were cheap less than £60 they cost me.

Possibly. I might notice a difference if I was in the habit of pressing *really* hard on the pedal, but then anything more than enough to activate the ABS is wasted.
Ian.

ok, then the braided lines only come in handy when they are needed for special situations!
other than that it's a waste of money I guess?

Goodridge work better on a non assisted system, such as on most motorcycles. It made a reasonable improvement on my Suzuki 750. I suspose that's because any expansion of lines on a bike is VERY noticable due to the small amount of lever travel at our disposal unlike on most cars where pumps and servos are used.
