Energy Supplier Gone Bust

My BG smart meter was removed and recycled when I moved to Eon.
I expect the same will happen if I move from Eon.
Smart meters in themselves don't save any money but you tend to notice how much energy you are using when its displayed 24/7. Turning off lights and being more energy efficient comes naturally then, thereby saving your money.

Turning off lights etc only comes when the children leave home - and even then I still have to train SWMBO, the number of times I've found lights in her under eaves storage, lights in her dressing room still on etc etc!! However, tracking our monthly useage via an Excel spreadsheet has flagged problems in the past - major examples being when we had a meter fail, and when somehow our dishwasher had been switched from cold rinse to double hot rinse!
