...a rental..not saying what !
Apparently gearbox is knackered, got glycol in it so need radiator as well. Anyway looks like £2.5K+++ to get it sorted.

Anyway was searching around on t'net and dropped some enquires at a couple of the breaker web sites. Anyway, got a call from a company called 'engear' (Engear Engines - Professional Engine & Gearbox Repairs) who quoted 1200 to supply & fit a recon box. Anybody heard of them them good or bad? can anyone recommend anyone else..in any case I will be having words with MB.

thanks
jon

Jon,
You sure your gearbox is faulty despite the water ingress ?
My local specialist said they had replaced those type of rads with no mechanical damage to the gearbox. Obviously needed flushing though.

As above. A new torque converter may be needed though.

Speak to Ken at Transmission Technology in Knowle (in yellow pages), he'll sort out your box properly, although it may just need a convertor.
