Hi,

Bit a of a daft question but does anyone know how to remove the engine cover on a W212 E350 cdi please. Looking to do a DIY oil change at the weekend and need to get to the oil filter.

Assuming it just pops off but not sure how to disconnect from air intakes at the front.

Anyone know or have a step by step guide?

Thanks

First thing to do is to put a hand either side of the narrow rigid plastic section just behind the corrugated rubber bit, looking towards the rear of the engine. You will see/feel a tab each which needs to be pulled out slightly and then lift it up. This remains attached to the rubber part. The just pull the engine cover directly upwards starting at the front. It has two popper type catches at the front and two at the rear. Fitting is the reverse but I find it easiest to locate the two rear clips first. Press down on all four corners and you will hear the cover click into place. Then just reattach the front bit. Once you have done it the first time it's a real breeze. Be careful not to bend the tabs either side up too much as they can snap.

That's great, many thanks for reply,

Will give that a try tomorrow and see how it goes.
