Hi all, I need your knowledge again. Do the black engine covers to the right and left of engine remove completely.
They unlock so you can lift them up but the back edges seem to be fitted under the bottom edge of the windscreen. I don’t want to force them in case of damage. Car is 17 plate C200.
Thanks
Keith

In the e class they do come off, once lifted I just pull them away, I assume it would be similar on the C Class.

Mine is the same as yours, but a year older. I realise you mean the ones that cover the battery area and also the cabin/pollen filter, not the engine top cover as my first edit showed.

I unlocked the 1/4 turn clip and then lifted the panel away, though the rubbers might get stuck/caught around the edges, so lift it gently and check nothing is stopping it coming off. I did my cabin filters a few weeks ago, one being under the right side in this picture roughly where the yellow sticker is:

Thanks Benz17 and oldskoolrs, that’s the same as mine, so will now have a go at taking the covers off.
They most likely came off last Monday during its service and was going to ask the technician how it’s done but forgot. Just want to give it a clean underneath really.
Cheers, Keith
