Engine cranks but wont start

Hi is there any Mercedes diesel specialist on here im having a problem getting my Mercedes c220 AMG Line Bluetec Auto 2143cc (W205) engine 2014. To Start up after changing a plastic coolant housing which also holds the fuel filter apparently these are common for leaking coolant and i bought an uprated genuine part from Mercedes anyway it wouldnt clear the EGR cooler so i decided to take off the fuel rail as this seemed like the quickest way to get the coolant housing off as it made room that way i bolted everything back together checked everything was plugged in the car started for a few seconds then died like it ran out of diesel and now it will not fire i do get a fault code some times but not all the time P0087 low fuel pressure but ive had the fuel pressure tested with a proper tester at 248bar cranking has anyone ever removed a fuel rail off these engines and had the same issue i appreciate any information anyone can give me that could help me get the car to start thanks paul

i reckon you have an airlock air in system,try turning key on leave for 30secs then try to start it as thease cars are self priming
 
ive tried that numerous times and it wont fire also had the fuel pressure tested on the rail at 248bar still no joy its only happened since i removed fuel rail its like the car has shut its self down
 
do you know if the fuel pressure sensors need to be programmed to these or if they are just plug and play

Hi I'm stuck exactly after doing same, please say you have sorted the issue
 
Good pressure for start and idle but too low for fast running. The obvious is air if you have put back everything as found. Can you hear the injectors firing?

All you can here is fuel priming but no fire, someone said the injectors are stuck closed due to air in them
 
Hmmm seems to be a regular issue on the OM651 engine when the injectors are touched. They have to be capped and stored in a particular orientation to stop air locks. I think you may need to get the high pressure bleed done by a scanner maintenance process if repeated starting does nothing. Poke in the dark, try a couple of times first thing in the morning when it's as cold as possible and any air is at it's smallest volume.

Tried cranking and cranking eating my brain cells, Just won't fire
 
crankshaft positioning sensor perhaps. ie something unrelated to your mianteneance?
 
I wonder if the injectors could have lost the coding when you took the fuel rail off ? Did you disconnect any electrical plugs?
 
I've programmed everything up, I would to know how the guy fixed his car In 2019 but he's not replied
Hi sent injectors was told the where stuck close got the to take air out of injector, cranked and cranked with some easy start got it firing, running slightly rough due to its knocked 1 injector out totally, BUT it's running

Did you manage to sort this as iv spent hours trying to get mine running again. Did the same as you, removed the rail and put it back together and it ran for about 30 seconds and then went lumpy and cut out and hasnt started since. Iv got 250bar of pressure at the rail when cranking and pressure at the injectors, and the lift pump in the tank is running but just wont fire on its own fuel. It will run on easy start but then soon as you stop spraying it dies. Please tell me you fixed yours
