Engine cutting out when under pressure.

Hello, I am new to this forum but i would like to ask if anyone can help me with a problem that has occurred today.
I drive a mercedes c270 cdi (2003)

The car starts perfectly and you can rev it with no problem but as soon as i put it into drive and try to set off the car judders and then cuts out.
At stand still there is not a problem but seems to be when the engine is under pressure and trying to go it feels really weak and cuts out.

Can anybody help me and give me some ideas what this may be?

That sounds like a torque converter problem.

ty for the reply, any idea what i can do to solve the problem?

As a test, have the lock up clutch disabled, if it still stalls it's new torque converter time.

Hi Dieselman,
I have noticed that the pipe that comes out of the torque convertor has come off. It is broken where the metal clip goes arond the plastic pipe to hold it on. I fixed it temporarily today and the car seemed to be fine but it has come off again. I would imagine i need to replace the broken part but do you know how i can get the part number and where a diagram will be to take it completely off and replace?
