Any advice to help solve my problem would be gratefully received!
On my way home from work today the engine diagnostic light illuminated on the dashboard.
My SLK is a 200k, 2001 model, manual gearbox with 81,000 miles. I have never had any problems with it during my 4 years of ownership until now.
I have contacted my local independent garage who have advised that the car needs to be hooked up to diagnostic equipment which should then diagnose the fault. Being an independent garage, they aren't sure if their equipment will diagnose the fault on an SLK, and if it doesn't, then they say the only way to identify the fault is through Mercedes (ouch, i'm sure will be very expensive!)
Does anybody have any ideas as to what the fault may be prior to paying for a diagnostic check?
All responses gratefully received.
Alex.
