engine dies at 2500 rpm

Hi Fellow MB owners

I've got a S430L Year 2000

Has any one ever had one that dies after 2500 RPM, I’ve just had the car serviced with a full complement of spark plugs oil air filters ect.

Took the car up to the lakes for the week end and noticed if I put my foot down ass soon as it comes near to 2500 rpm every think sort of dies until the car drops to 1500 rpm were it will start to drive normally again, covered over 300 miles like this but its scary when you approach a junction because she wont accelerate to join traffic.

Tried revving up on my driver with car in park and again she goes up to 2500 rpm and dies. Any one got any ideas, what to look for, before I put her back in garage. Not sure my indi garage in Formby is any good. Going to try somewhere else. Any ideas I’m in Liverpool

Spot on RECYCLED, took car to Frenz in pall mall replace Maf car runs like new great call thanks a lot.
