Had a strange thing the other day.
I had driven for about 20 minutes – taking my Son to work. When I pulled off the by-pass & up to a junction, the car just cut out. It was as if I’d stalled it, but it’s auto.
I started it again & it ran o.k. About 5 minutes later as I was dropping him off, it happened again. No warning lights,,, no temp’ abnormality,,, nothing wrong with running etc.
It had just reached 21000 miles on that day. I normally use Shell fuel. Once in a blue moon I might risk a Tesco top up.
Just been to my MB agent who put it on a Star. It came up with no problems, or even a record of what had happened.
At first glance this might seem like good news,,,, but I am still worried because it happened & I now have no idea why,,,, or when it might happen again,,,, or maybe something worse might occur.
Any ideas folks ?

Sounds it could be the crankshaft sensor. Read my reply to THINKING of buying a 2004 E320 avantgard. Needs to be checked on star.

Thanks for the info.

As in the OP, I had it checked on a STAR at my local MB dealership (Truro).

It came up with no problems at all, from any department.

The engineeer thought that it might have been an air bubble or bit of shmuck in an injector.

Cheers
