engine management light and limp mode w212 E220 CDI

i was recently driving and noticed my engine management light come on, i rang the RAC and they came out to diagnose the problem, one being the MAF sensor.

DTC P2279- INLET AIR CIRCUIT- LACK OF AIR IN INLET CIRCUIT
DTC P2281- AIR LEAK BETWEEN MAF AND THROTTLE BODY
DTC P0685- THE OUTPUT FOR RELAY TERMNINAL 87 (COMBUSTION ENGINE)

We checked the MAF- it seems ok (not covered in debris)
we checked the air filter - all nice and clean.
we checked for any leaks - we couldn't find any.

The mechanic then cleared the codes but the car still feels limp and unresponsive - however no engine management light is on.

Does anybody have any other suggestions?

Have you smoke tested the intake system?

Update.

Upon more inspection I found a split in the intercooler pipe...something the RAC failed to see. I have ordered a replacement but have had to duct tape it for me to drive home.
