What will happen is this , when you arrive you'll receive free coffee and a small tube of ky jelly . You drink the coffee . They will take your car around the back , a place you will arrive at later with your debit card, after using the ky jelly . They will scan the car , find what's at fault , fix it hopefully, reset all fault codes ,take it for a test drive which will be all hunky dory , then a petite blonde with peroxide rinced smile ,will send you on your way. 5 miles from home your car will go back into limp mode and dinner will be ruined.

Do keep up, OneForTheRoad. Have you been to a dealer recently? No more free coffee 'due to COVID'. And the KY is now a dispenser, next to alcogel.

When you are at the Specialist , tell them your concerns about using the Main Dealer because you want stuff done right ;)
Absolutely, and after a short realistic discussion with them and booking it in, you can ring the MD and cancel your appointment. Job done and much money saved.

That was what I was angling for :) (When their laughter had died down )

If your car was serviced by an MB dealer less than 365 days ago, then you have the MB Mobilo roadside assistance.
Then I do mate. Full dealer history, last serviced march last year. So if I press the wee phone button in the car they will come out and scan it z saving me paying for it to be done during its service?

You can try. They may want to recover it to an MB garage for you.

It will just cost your time to place a call and ask.

If Mobilo recovers the car to an MB garage, I think they can arrange a loan/hire car for you too as part of the service.

Over the last month with the cold weather (I'm assuming), my car has had a loss of power (won't go by 3000 revs). Switching off and on seems to sort it out, however the other day the engine management light illuminated and has remained on. I (stupidly) let the fuel run down, and was heading out and was going to fill it when this happened - again, power/kick down wasn't there when I started the car and began driving, and it was fine after switching off and on - but when I restarted the car the eml was on.
Your symptoms sound similar to mine, but of course, the root cause could be something entirely different from mine. On my W205 2016 C330h, I have been getting a loss of power with the gears refusing to change up. After a few restarts, I would get the EML. Called out Mobilo and they scan the error code, did a few tests (even downloaded and upgraded the ECU).

On mine, it was the Swirl flaps that were throwing up an error. After living with this for 2 years, I finally took the car in with the EML light showing and MB dealership reported that I need a new manifold unit. Luckily this was covered by the extended MB warranty I took out before the 3-year manufacturer's warranty expired.

Did you call Mobilio ?

Mobilio recovery will come out and scan the car

Only if the car is actually in limp mode at the time though. I tried to get them to come out for our S203 when the EML came on, but no joy because the car was still driving OK.

Limp mode every time I start the car in the morning. Switching it off then back on solves the limp mode issue, but the light stays on.

Going to do it today mate,

Going to do it today as working from home anyway. Best way to do it - by calling them from mobile or by using the sos button in car?
My cars are 12 years old buddy , what is this mysterious SOS contraption that thou doest speak of ;)

Haha. There is a wee red phone button - up next to the interior lights which I assume connects to meecedes if you break down etc (or mobilio as I've learnt their known 😀)
