hi all
when pulling away from a stand and when changing gears on my 2013 sprinter the engine seems to miss a beat then drives perfectly until I change gear again then the same miss of a beat then all good again , any ideas please.

Turbo lag fault?

thanks for reply , It feels more electronic , ( I had a VW T4 with turbo lag, this a much shorter sharper feeling )

Seems this is happening each time you lift off the throttle , may be a condenser or if your coils are built into your plug leads then it may be coil

I take it your vehicle is a diesel sprinter,no spark plugs or leads to worry about if so.

my guess would be a dirty MAF,you may get lucky cleaning it but logic says plug it in

and start a proper diagnosis. Good luck.

yep I should have pointed out its a diesel ,
I have ordered a icarsoft mb 2.0 diagnostic tool so should get it in the next couple of days so can see what comes up . I did borrow my brothers generic tester which faulted the exhaust sensors but I can't see these causing the problem but could be wrong ....again

yep its a manual, not sure about the flywheel I will try and find out , what are you thinking ?

I am thinking that your symptoms might be down to a momentary delay in drive uptake rather than the engine missing a beat ---this due to a faulty dual mass flywheel sticking or a broken/worn spring/s?

hi again Grober
I wasn't sure what a mass fly wheel was ( im old school ) just had a look at what they are , I can see where you are coming from but the engine does start pulling so any slack would be taken up and then the pause comes , thanks for you input but it definitely feel more electrical rather than fuel of drivetrain .
regards
B
