Hi All.

I have a CLA200 on a 19 plate.

Can anyone tell me if I can see the engine mount bolts without going under the car and removing the under plate? Can I see through the top of the engine?

I hope someone can point me in the right direction.

Regards,

Andy

What mount , as there will be more than one , normally on a FWD car there will be a visible (upper) one on the LHS inner wing , the gearbox mount and any another mid-mounts maybe a bit trickier to see but unless you open the bonnet and have a peek you will never know.

Being a 2019 plate car the dealers maybe your best bet , if you think there is an issue, as it will still be under manufacturers warranty.

Hi K, and thank you for your swift reply :)

I have already had an issue with the bolts (long and ongoing story), so need to see them myself, if I can.

Not sure if you can make them out in the photos I have attached.

At least one is right next to the drive shaft, I have been told.

Regards,

Andy

Sorry i cant be of more help , Andy.

Petrol or diesel as the mounts / location maybe slightly different.

Normally when i am looking for a parts location i use Google images , someone somewhere will have posted a pic of the part i am looking for. Once i know what i am actually looking for it is easier to locate.

The first pic of the loose bolt looks a bit concerning.

Hi K, and no worries, I appreciate your time.

It is the petrol version, and I will take a peek in the engine later today.

The second picture should be concerning too, as the bolt was missing!! Two loose and one missing...

As I said, an ongoing issue with Mercedes.

I will let you know if I can see them later.

Regards,

Andy

Hi K.

Had a look, and I would only be able to see from below the car, so it would mean removing the bottom etc.

I can feel one of the bolts, which I think is behind the exhaust manifold. I know it is one of the ones that was loose, as I can feel the score mark it made on the drive shaft.

Thanks again for your time.

Regards,

Andy
