Engine mounts

On mine, no more than one hour for both sides. I'd expect an experienced mechanic with ramps to do it in even less time.

In true time it takes about an hour to do. Te dealer is completely wrong. Some of the labour times that the dealer has will be time taken on the job by te Technician.

The dealer may have guessed at the labour time without actually looking it up.

1.5 seems fair......

Dealer times are "book" times and are set out by Mercedes. Your indy may go by the book as well or charge based on the time spent. Best to ask first

Not all dealer times are "book" times. Some of them are called ZM times which mean its how ever long the technician takes to do the job.

Its a 30 minute job for a professional who has a ramp and the required tools at hand. (how long my indie took to do mine while talking to me at the same time)

1-1.5 hours labour is a fair charge, but 4 hours is taking the....

Parrot

Best £700 or £800 i have ever spent.
To change the mounts it was a case of up on ramp remove covers let car down slightly with an acrow prop under sump .
Undo nearside mount and remove and replace.
Undo offside mount and remove and replace.
Replace covers and let her down.
All done and dusted in 45mins.

I did spend an hour tidying garage beforehand though:eek:
Thanks,
