Hi all,

I have a leaking pipe that goes to the engine oil cooler. In anticipation of being unable to get the old pipes off of the oil cooler I plan to buy a new one as they are relatively cheap. Not sure the pipes will be as it seems only MB sell them. I am having trouble seeing where the cooler itself is located. It would seem to be behind the coolant rad somewhere. Has anyone replaced theirs and can share with me the location?

Many thanks, Paul

om648 cdi? Its on the back of the Oil filter housing from memory

Between the oil filter and the fuel filter

On the OM648 there is an oil to water cooler.
The transmission has cooling pipes running to the main radiator.
Hi Alec, thanks a lot for the PDFs. This clears up my confusion and one of the earlier replies from merc85. I now know it is transmission fluid that is leaking. All I have to do is try a fix without replacing the pipe as I've seen posts that say the radiator always gets damaged and then needs replacing
