engine serial number (v6 engine)

hi there, i just wandering if anybody here knows where the engine number situated on v6 engine. i have look several times in the engine unfortunely i can't find one.

it's at the back of the engine (as you look at the car from the front) on the right hand side -- you cannot see it as there is little/no space between the engine the firewall separating the engine and passenger compartment.

that's what an MB engineer told me .. I was trying to find the engine number for an AA data check

i suspected there as well, but it is to dark to see anything there, hopefully my engine number is the same as the number on paper.
