Just thought I would gauge interest.

I am working on a next gen console game that features a lot of city based driving. We are testing new methods of modelling engine sounds and will be looking to record a wide variety of cars for potential use in the final product - everything from taxis to TVRs - even diesel BMWs :D .

The recording process is very similar to a rolling road day, except we are using DynaPacks, as a drum roller would obviously create too much noise. The process takes about 45mins per car including setup. If you think you may be interested then post a reply with the car and engine specs / mods. Obviously we don't need 10 recordings of the same engine, but variations can be useful. A 4/6/8/12 cylinder lineup would be useful for the first session (Surrey).

All dates and sessions to be confirmed - the project is based over a few years so don't expect to see anything in the shops by christmas! You should get a free dyno reading of your car and the possibility it makes it into the game. The session is done by a professional team and you would be expected to sign a contract for ownership rights of the recordings to the company.

Thanks,

The company we have used before is based in Surrey - though we have actually been to Stuttgart to record for the GT franchise - the last car being an SL55 AMG.

Around Guildford - exact details will be passed via PM to confirmed attendees (if any!). Thought there would be more interest than this to be honest!

I would be interested, Guildford only an hour from me, you will most probably get loads of Mercs, so I would be willing to bring my Toyota, it sounds quite sweet due to the 'Supersprint' exhaust and 'BMC' A/F Ind Kit.

Let me know, Bill.
:)

I can probably arrange to have any of the fleet brought for recording...the Alfa would make an unusual entry.

I would bring the Brabus 190 I think it sounds very nice. Any sessions in the North

The Alfa would be most welcome :)

A northern session is a possibility if there are enough interesting cars in that location - most of the new cars will be supplied by the manufacturers - although Vauxhall and Mercedes both have excellent 'museums' with older historic cars - Droop Snoot Firenza and Lotus Carlton spring to mind.

I can second that 100% both from inside and outside its wonderfull, but I am biased :o

I would go to Guildford with the Brabus if there is a large GTG and would stay overnight.

Car spec
1990 3.6 24v Brabus 190e bright red

Hi stats007 when is this likely to be. I can see from the info that they remove the road wheels to perform the dyno test. How do they support the car without causing damage to the underneath ?.
Depending on when it is I could bring the W140 S Class full Brabus 7.3S specification 582bhp, Brabus sports exhaust system,
cheers Graeme

You might break them with that! The DynaPacks bolt to the hubs and are direct replacements for wheels.
