1994 E200 estate
Hello all, new member alert.
I picked up my first Mercedes yesterday, a 1994 2.0L petrol E200 estate. Driving it home I noticed no engine temp registering on the dash. On getting home 100 mile trip, I popped the bonnet to have a look. All was fine in the bay so first port of call was going to be the temp sender unit. Here in lies the problem, I can't find it. All the you tube vids say its on the thermostat housing but mine isn't. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

If you leave it parked with the engine running does the temp gauge rise?
If you then start driving it does the gauge drop to the minimum again?
If so I would suspect a stuck thermostat.

Doing that had crossed my mind, I'll give it a go tomorrow when I get to work. Thanks for the advice.

New temp gauge sender and thermostat fitted all good now, temp gauge needle sitting smack in the middle. Happy days
