engine transplant???

egg?

on face, maybe?

Well all I can say is that the OP will be back on here asking advice on a replacement motors as the Non MB bearing he is going to squeeze into his motor goes $hit shaped rather quickly... His choice I guess:dk:

Note to the OP:-

GO AND GET IT LOOKED AT BY A COMPETENT PERSON.
IT WILL SAVE YOU MONEY

Tell you what Lord. Given that it's a W210 and therefore probably a rustbucket, I'll offer you £800 for it sight unseen. Deal?

Unless he really does fit a Renault 21 engine.....

would it be possible to fit an c class 220 cdi to an e class 320 cdi? would it be a simple straight swap or would the gearbox require changing? ecu problems, etc?

Drop the 220 straight in - no problem.

I'm sure the ECU won't notice the two missing cylinders...

:wallbash:

Just don't connect the last two wires , that'll fool it ;)

hey,i was referring to the couple of silly replies and really appreciate you guys expertise.as for "rustbucket",the car is immaculate, one of the best in the uk.this is why im trying to repair it properly.thanks again and merry christmas!!

Returning to your problem. Either way the engine has to come out. Why don't you then strip out the existing crankshaft and have the oilseal journal built up and resurfaced to original spec. There are many reputable engineering companies capable of this work. It involves hot spraying metal onto the worn surface then grinding back to spec.

nice,do you recommend any particular company? ive never heard of anyone who can carry this out.thanks.
