Hi all,
Have a 2010 E350 CDI coupe, type C207. Questions on engine type.
The mercedes dealer is telling me the engine in the car is a 642.836
The engine number on the vehicle cert is starting with 642836 .... So all good until ...
When I enter the service menu on the dash the engine is given as: 642DE30LA (see image)
After a bit of searching bewteen 09/2009 and 09/2010 these did come with a 642DE30LA engine, so this source suggests: Viridian Performance models |
Also if I use my diagnostics and tell it it's a 642.836 engine then I can do no functional tests, like turn off injectors etc. If I tell my diarnostics its a Mercedes Sprinter, which came with a 642DE30LA engine, then I can do functional tests, no problem.
So dealer and engine number says one thing and the car display plus diagnostics suggests another.
So 642.836 or 642.DE30LA ?
Also where do Mercedes hide the engine number on the block ?
I'm having a few problems with rough idle but want to sort this first ...
Thanks for any help,
Joe
