Hello all

thinking of getting my egr mapped out C350 Cdi.

anyone done it and had any issues come MOT time?

Thanks lots
👍👍

Tester wouldnt notice tbh and once your car is up to temp it wont make a difference to the emissions

Why do you want the EGR removed / blanked out?

i spoke to a tuner today and it sounds like a win win, better mpg, throttle response and reliability, but by the letter of the law its illegal

not had an issue on my Merc but 2 previous cars loads of issues

I’ll be the second to admit I’m a cynical old so and so...but presumably he takes more out of your wallet for removal of the EGR?

if it is giving you problems, are you sure a diesel is right for you? Don’t EGR issues manifest themselves on low use low mileage cars?

If you want to go faster, advanced driving lessons are cheaper...and you won’t choke your kids.

Its not just about going faster, I instruct advanced driving. It’s about better mpg and a more reliable car.

In the middle of a respiratory pandemic, yeah, fvcking great idea to further poison the air we all have to breathe.

Every info I have = remap and egr hugely improves MPG, by upto 20% so Yha I’m doing my bit not to (fvcking) poison you 👍 Ps if your that worried drive a Prius not your c2500, 350, 450 😂😂

So you think better mpg = less emissions 😂😂😂😂?

I can achieve a 20% increase in mpg with better smoother driving ....i dont need to fudge the electrics and remove emissions gear...

The egr is the devil , I could go on all day..

So many wrongs , just two things of the multiple issues , recirculated hot sooty exhaust gasses combines with normally occurring crankcase oil vapour coating and constricting both the egr and inlet manifold with an evil gunk causing inefficientcy .

The sooty exhaust gasses that do make it's way in the engine are extremely abrasive , look under a microscope !

We all have engine air filters and an engine should only breathe cool clean filtered air , period .

Thanks for reply, tbt I would struggle to go back to a petrol, I can easily get +50 mpg out of my c350, the removal is
It doesn't matter what I drive when there's shitheads like you who think they know what they're doing but haven't a clue.

20% mpg improvement my ****. Big increase in NOx - definitely.
