I have a 2002 CLK 240 (209) that had a ESP warning not working on dash display.
I had tested and came up as a Steering Angle sensor fault.
I fitted a second hand one but still same problem.
I removed to check again and made sure the Yellow tooth was visible on back of sensor through the small hole before refitting, but still same issue.
I had tried resetting by turning lock to lock 5 times but no joy.
I found another post for a different model advising to push ESP button, drive off within 10 secs and drive slowly going full left to right and this did the trick and warning disapeared after pressing button again
Hope this helps someone.
