I was about to put in an order for tyres but I noticed at the weekend that they've got a new web site and all the prices have gone up by about 20%. I phoned them up and they said that the prices had gone up "slightly". They were just competitive before but now they're a rip off. Anyon1e know of another company that will do mobile fitting?

You're right. Prices have gone up. I paid £510+£20 balancing for 4 tyres (2x 225/45/17 , 2x 245/40/17) and its now £545+£20 balancing. Difference £35 / £510 or about 7% . They were Continental Sport Contact (not '2').
They were very convenient, but as you say, they're charging 'alot' more now.

Their Goodyear F1s have gone from £120 on Friday to £140 today (245-40X17). And their new web site is rubbish.

Thanks for that Sym. Ideally I want fitting at home because I've got new wheels and I don't want to take them one by one to the fitter and then have to put them on myself if I can help it - but it looks like I'm going to have to do that. They're very cheap. I'd guess they're old stock (?), but maybe not. It's worth thinking about. That's a very cheap dealer.

Why take them one by one ? We're not talking about a smart car here are we ? ;) (sorry smart owners !!)

New Wheels on the back seat, new tyres in boot !

I paid £470 to etyres inc fitting for my current goodyears, which was convenient, and also a pretty good deal at the time, but looks like they are no longer competetive. Have got much better deals in the past by buying the tyres direct and having them fitted locally.

Good luck !

**EDIT** Sorry - just remembered you have an SLK, don't you ... thats almost worse than a smart for carrying tyres !!

Yeah I can get two wheels in the boot (with no tyres on) and one wheel with a tyre on.

If you've just joined the forum for the sole purpose of posting bad things about Etyres then I am afraid you'll have to go.
