Hello folks.
Thought I'd say a quick 'hello' to all! I bought a 2006 R500SE a few weeks ago, a 2-owner car with lots of history and a very long list of options - it cost somebody around £62k new....I paid a lot less!
I think 500s are pretty few and far between, and ours is a SWB one, so rarer still. Its dark blue (tansanite?) with tan leather, which is a really nice combination.
Issues? Well, the hinged rear windows aren't working - the car had a new tailgate module fitted a few months ago and apparently they've not worked since then, so there might be a connection with that. The rear parking sensors don't work either, which is more of a concern as the back end, even in a SWB R Class, seems a long way away! Other than that, its a wonderful drive, I can't believe how quiet it is.....the only distraction is how quick the fuel gauge heads south!
