So did a previous owner of my 2004 CL203. (The one I've sold to a friend)
Realised after I bought it, it had an emulator installed. (note to self always check if seatbelt warning goes off with someone in passenger seat and seatbelt not fastened when buying old Mercedes). So bought a second hand mat for £50 and found this when I pulled the old one out.
They must have spent hours with a dremel and would have had the seat out anyway so I don't know why they just didn't replace it.
Anyway, changing out the sensor mat on this model was pretty easy, took about an hour used small hook tools to unclip and fold back seat cover after removing seat from car. Did not have to dismantle seat any further.
