Everybody boycot Tesco's Insurance

Dear all,

Please don’t boycott Tesco Insurance as suggested, I am a very happy customer of theirs and don’t want to see my premiums increase.

Just another point of view.

Thank you.

I'm a happy customer too Simon ... they are very 'understanding' about my little mods, so I won't be boycotting them as a result of this thread !

I have never had to make a claim though - and I guess this is when any insurance company, no matter how wonderful you think they might be, can show their true colours !

Good luck to First_Benz in getting his problem with them sorted.

Its only to make a point....

I don't think this is really intended to create a Boycot.. there simply isn't enough of us to make a point !!! Joking ;)

What I am really saying, and as Sym thankfully says, is that it becomes very hard to trust an organisation and even believe that they give outstanding service when infact they have failed totally...

You should obviously not boycot because of the way I have been treated.. I am merely an angry customer of theirs and I will fight my ground until I get some appology from them..
and i am grateful to everyone here for giving me advise on :) my case..

Tescos are great until you make a claim and then you realise why they are so cheap. I went with them for two weeks and a large stone smashed my windscreen on the M25. Normally not a big issue but Tescos refused to let me have an original MB windscreen and tried to fit an aftermarket thing that was slightly green and not blue. When I refused to have it fitted and said I wanted my car to go to the dealership to have it done they said it is up to their discretion on what type of windscreen to use and who fits it.

I told them to cancell the policy and went back to my old insurance company.

I'm with Tescos too, and are more than happy with them.

However, I've never made a claim with them and have no intention on doing so. But very interesting to note the situation.

so it is true....

there was a thread on this forum a short while back saying that Tesco's could allow you to have your car repaired at a MB approved centre.. but they DONT anynore!!!!

Just to make matters worse for me, I asked Tesco's about this - she said "no, it is not in our policy to allow customers centres of their choice"

Then I asked her why they didn't even call me to resolve my problem... she replied "we didn't fail, we followed our policy !!!" ... and therefore the policy is to make sure that customers who get shafted remain that way for ever..

I guess that the answer to this is that make damm sure you never hit anything in sight (even if it is not your fault) and Tesco's will be the best thing since sliced bread !!!

Tesco - every little helps...

I have been with Tescos for a couple of years and have been very pleased with their service - I also had a no fault claim and the courtesy car arrived promptly and the whole thing went very smoothly and professionally.

I picked Tesco's because they were cheapest quote I received but also because I was annoyed at the previous poor service I had from my last insurer - I probably was even angrier than First_Benz about that.

I always shop around for insurance and for example I saved £300 by switching to Tesco - however you need to read the policy document and understand the cover they provide and decide if they are giving you what you want.

I usually also get a quote from MB insurance which is fabulous cover - e.g. guaranteed MB repairs, MB courtsey car, MB Service - however this year they were £450 more expensive than Tesco's - so I took a view and decided that for £450 I could live with Tesco's for another year...

Some do have it good and I really and honestly hope that you remain to get this quality of service from them for years to come :)

Tesco's are now looking into the matter... be surprised if I get anything though from what they said... lets see
