Just thought I'd finally share some pictures of my E320 widebody coupe. The entire build is well documented on the benzworld forums for those that are interested.
One of my first memories of the mercedes 300ce was seeing them cruising around London in the early 90's - then the 500e came out and I always wondered why Mercedes never produced a coupe version.
I commissioned a local MB specialist shop to help realize the concept a couple of years ago & I'm very happy with the results. The install of the twin turbo conversion I purchased a few years ago is next... I believe that RBYC's install is the perfect way of installing / enhancing the original Hughes of Beaconsfield kit.

lolely car mate.

Very nice!

Good looking car.

Lovely - how come no provision for number plate on front bumper insert?

I assume he's in the US (or similar), I don't think they need a 'license plate' on the front over there.

Only certain and very few states give exemption for front number plate.

Looks most impressive !

Because of the way every picture was taken I cant seem to make out what side skirts were used/modified..... AMG perhaps?

The original side skirts were modified/widened to flow with the new arches. I've never been a fan of the AMG skirts as I feel they give the car a "thick" look, though it certainly would have been an easier option!

Thanks for the comments!

Looks great!

Any interior pics?

I love the stance, it never fails to amaze me how a set of larger rims make a car look so less dated.

Is that paint 189?

I had the front bumper filler plate smoothed in - luckily in Michigan we don't have front plates...

No, the paint is a custom variation of the Azurite Blue (hated the purple hues in certain light conditions). My painter replaced the factory pearlescent pint and whites of the paint code with more blue, black and grey. Also the clear coat that we went with is the best there is, which of course comes with a price tag to match!

Looks great!

Thank you... Certainly - the 500e seats WERE NOT a direct swap by the way!!!:

What was the problem with fitting the 500e seats? Should be a direct bolt in and use your existing harnesses, you also have heated seats, so that wouldn't of been an issue either.

What? No chrome star on the steering wheel?
Presumably, some pretty athletic maneouvres are required to gain access to the back seats?
Still lovely!

That's what I thought too... The tracks are different between the coupe & sedan, so I had to unbolt the bases & swap them. The wiring was also slightly different, so that had to be figured out also. All functions work as they should now.

Still trying to decide if I want to put the recaro's I bought in the car or leave the 500e seats....
