Viano 2.2 Cdi 2004
I have a 2004 viano 2.2 Cdi changed all pads and then noted that although firn brake peel with engine off when running brakes work fine but pedal travels down to floor in a slow gradual way. Changed the brake master cylinder still the same. Read forum where it was suggested this is mercedes progressive braking and the normal. My wife generally uses the veh and has never noted anything unusual. When changing pads noted that drives side was worn down to bare minimum other side was half worn. Will change fluid and bleed brakes could be caliper sticking any suggestions as it is due mot and am concerned will fail brake test. The vehicle is diesel auto and done 177k

Appreciate any helpfully hints suggestions

When you stuck in the new master cylinder some air could have got into the system then.

I just changed mine and think i got a bit of air in the system

The pedal feels stiff with the engine off as you dont have the servo assist with the engine off

A good bleeding mate thats what you need.
