This is getting worse as both the weather warms up and the engine is working harder. Starting when warm requires excessive cranking 5-7 seconds.

I'm expecting this to be air, - it's just seen a mechanic so I would hope injectors would have been spotted.

I'm aware that this clip on the fuel pump is broken. Could this cause my problem?

If so any idea of the part number? Can't find it on EPC as usual...

Any ideas gratefully received!

Usually air in the system due to pipes not sealing correctly normally only give problems in the morning.

Increased starting duration when warm is sometimes a sign one or more injector has excessive leak off

No it wouldn't a physical leak of test would have to be carried out.

Sounds like fun! Will speak to the garage that I use....

Probably make no difference but that pipe is not clipped in, as said injectors need to be checked, a leak of test will determine if any are at fault.

hot and cranking normally points to crank position sensor, common problem.

i would get a star check and replace this as this code sometimes clears itsels

I doubt it for a 5-7 second duration, its fuel related.

This problem has slowly been getting worse - especially when towing, and I finally bit the bullet and sent it off to my garage.

Two days later Injector No 2 has been refurbished, my wallet is £110 lighter, and the car starts better than it ever has. Feels quicker too.

Happy again.
