Hello guys, new here, and new to the forums in general. Let me introduce myself and my car.
My name is George, I am from Cyprus and i own a 2003 W211 e200 kompressor which was imported from England. I own this car for 18 months now. I have a terrible back/spine problem which was the reason i went and bought this car. On time of purchase it had 60k km on the clock.
Overall I had a trouble free ownership with only servicing and regular maintenance. The only thing i notice is the weird gear changes, mainly from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 2nd, seems like its slipping, but managed to get my way through with that by adjusting the way i drive.
The major issues appeared a couple of months ago when i got the engine warning light on. So i went to my local Mercedes 'specialist' to diagnose and repair.
First issue was oil leak from the camshaft balancers, 'magnets' as the mechanic calls them. After careful inspection, there was no oil leak to the ecu and the wiring harness seems to be fine aswell.
Leaving the mechanic, the car was driving perfect until i went on the motorway. In 3rd and 4th gear, 4000rpm, it would not accelerate more. If i pushed more it would bring the engine warning light back on.
So back to the mechanic, the diagnosis was mixture too rich, and oxygen sensor code. He found a valve on the bottom of the engine that was broken to pieces. After replacing that, i would get the engine warning light on again under same conditions, 4000rpm etc but this time it would also cause misfire on cylinder 1.
We ended up replacing both oxygen sensors and spark plugs.
Now the car drives as it should, accelerates properly, changes gears perfectly. The only thing i can really notice is when braking to a halt, the car feels like it wants to keep going.
There are no warning lights coming on, no matter how hard i push and it seems perfect but, Fuel cusumption is absolutely terrible. I use 3 times the fuel i did before travelling the same distance every day to and from work.
Its been to 2 more mechanics since and no one seems to have an answer, hence the very long post here.
I did a lot of research, read all forum threads regarding any of my issues and was unable to find a solution for my issue.
Something i forgot to mention, I cover 600km a week with the car and its now sitting at 97k km.
I apologise for the long post, im desperate right now and running out of ideas. So any help would be greatly appreciated as i can't afford to buy another Mercedes right now.

Kalispera.
Did you get the car scanned for fault codes ?
Kalispera :)
After replacing the oxygen sensors, no more fault codes unfortunately. Its going to another mechanic again tomorrow Morning. Oh and last scan was done yesterday morning.

May not necessarily be fault codes , but need to check fuel trim , air flow etc and make sure all figures are where they should be.
