I'm in the process of renovating an '02 CLK 320 that has spent the last couple of years in a barn (yes - a real barn find). I've just had the interior valeted and it looks 1000 times better. However, the top of the rear seats are peeling. The leather looks in good condition, but the best way I can describe it - sorry for anybody squeamish out there - is when you spend a little too long in the sun and the top layer of your skin peels - or you peel it off!!

Do I just give them a good scrub with water or do they need some sort of feed?

It's the pvc coating that modern leathers have and it can peel. A respray of the coating or replacement of the seat are the solutions, feeding it will do nothing and water will get into the unaffected bits and make it worse. Or, just leave it.

Its been painted by a mobile trim repair guy and that stuff tends to peel if not applied correctly.
