I have noticed exhaust smells in the cabin recently - mainly when stationary / in traffic. I thought it may be due to the cars in front but noticed it when the car was on the drive.
I had a nose around and it seems to be coming from the back of the engine - using my nose, not seeing any smoke or obvious sooty residue.
I know the injector seals can fail and cause this.
If this is the case I suppose it would be best to replace all 6 - any ideas on cost to do so at a specialist - can anyone recommend one on North Essex?
Is it likely to be anything else?
The car runs fine except for the odd lumpy start when cold...
Thanks

Might be oil cooler seals leaking oil from the back of the engine

Also live in N(W) Essex and I take mine to Alex Crow in Stowmarket because I trust them to do an excellent job.

Could be so many things.... e.g. PCV
l have a look - I think my OM642 has a different type as I looked into doing the upgrade that was posted on this forum but the pipe disappears behind the engine..
