I'll look forward to listening to this at lunchtime. Have often considered doing this. You can hardly hear the engine on the move in stock trim!

Well done mate, 38,000 subscribers!! I'm also in the South East.

Sounds good. What cameras are you using, I clocked the go pro mount on the steering column, are you using a Hero 8, picture quality looks superb!

Nicely done Karl
Did I spot a cross-over pipe (or port) part way down the resonator box, linking the two sides?

Cheers!

I use 2x GoPro Hero8s in 4k mode (one fell off back of car, see very end of the video - it survived) and a 4k Lumux GX9

Edited in Adobe Premier Pro, for this video I upped the bitrate when it rendered, from 40 to 100 which has made huge leaps in picture quality at the expense of Disk space :( - This video wouldnt fit on a Blue Ray as an example!

Thanks,

Yeah it has a tiny link between the to, I guess its to cover the eventually of a mismatch between both exhausts:

See attached picture with my, erm, er finger in the hole.

Oh! Matron!!! :eek::D

So that means you have lost any 'balancing' between the exhaust banks? You were advised there was no benefit to adding a cross-pipe as you did on the CLS55, which didn't have one originally. Just wondering how this may effect the exhaust scavenging?

Multiple specialist advised, on a turbocharged car is no point linking the pipes as it does nothing to increase the sound,

I can only imagine Mercedes have done this just to cover their back in case there is any difference between the two pipes to even it out

Do you have a picture of the new pipes fitted to your cat Karl? Can't remember seeing one on the video and curious to how it looks?

Good informative video.
I also had mine straight piped after the resonator delete. A big difference on cold starts and on the throttle compared to stock.
One of the first things I'd have done if I were buying a Biturbo now.
