My 2009 CLS 320 CDI doesn't have a DPF but has an exhaust pressure sensor next to the EGR valve.

Why would this be?

Same as my E320cdi and all other pre DPF cars buddy . Can’t give you a reason though
 
you have 2 cats , the sensor detects blockages , the same as if it was a dpf . ( presumably )
 
1 or 2 ??? , the sensor still works on principal. :)
