Exhaust query

Hi,
Can anyone help me on this,please?
Have A class diesil
Recently mot'd and failed because " centre section blowing".
However, happened to notice the tailpipe was different as well.
Manual states tailpipe is bolt on.
£84 for job
Anyone able to wise me up on this please?

some fitting chappies put on "equivalent" exhausts that may have more, or less, sections than the original.

I once had a one-piece fitted instead of the original 3 piece, it was entertaining watching 14foot of tube being plaited around axles and fuel tank.

What type of A class ? 168 or 169 ?

The 168 exhaust is one piece from the cat back.

From your previous posts I assume you still have the W168 2002 A170 CDI?

On W169 diesel after the centre section it is just a straight pipe no rear / back box, the tailpipe trim is just bolted on to the end of this straight pipe.
