Not even trying!
My 2 VW vans managed over 250,000 miles on original exhausts.

My xtrail is on 146000. Original exhaust but just replaced rusty rear subframe.

Over 250 000 miles on each of my last 4 cars without needing any exhaust parts!

420K Kms on my 124's original cat. New cat now has 70K Kms and hoping for many, many more.

I think my first failure for the other exhaust parts was at about 350K Kms.

This on a petrol car. My son's 190D has the original exhaust at around 400K Kms. No sign of failure.

My stock exhaust has 17 years and 152K+ miles on it. Full AMG stainless . If left in a field for a century the only things that will remain of this car are the exhaust system and the M113 V8 engine.


The engine will still be running
