Expensive paint

    I have the. Designo Hyacinth Red ( BTW...There is no red Hyacinth) Why is it more expensive than normal metallic paints?

    Because people are prepared to pay a premium for it.

    It has the word Designo in front of it, so they can charge you more.

    They do look nice though :cool:

    Probably got some unicorn tear infused flakes in it.

    It probably also a PITA to respray (3 coats).

    I don't think it's a 3 coat process. Pearl maybe.

    Correct. Base coat, pearlescent then lacquer.

    that's the same for all pearlescent and metallic paints, isn't it?

    Lots of metallics are 2 step: colour coat + lacquer.
