Extinct rubber trim

Hello, I wonder if anyone can advise me, please?

I own an X reg. SLK 320, and the rubber strip (moulding?) that fits between the driver side front wheel panel and lower sill has perished beyond redemption. Mercedes no longer manufacture these, apparently, so clutching at the proverbial straw, if anyone can suggest where I might find one, it would be deeply appreciated.

Thanks for this - I've had a look, and it is very informative.
I may have found it, although if I'm looking at the correct part, it's described as a cover, rather than a seal (or strip). The exploded view of the area in question, puts it in the right place!
However, I have the part no. for it, and I'll see where that takes me.
