F TYPE vs SLK55 AMG

Love the F type but drive one to a junction where you fliter off to the right, therefore needing to look over your left shoulder and then decide if you can live with that. Calling it a blind spot is an understatement. Who the f#£% designed that into it??

Hmmm.....let me see.

I think you've inadvertently just proved my point.

Lee, Straight line performance the F type V6 S couldn't match the SLK55, I'm sure the V8 version would be closer.

Everything else goes to the F type, in terms of build quality, comfort, gadgets, etc..

I think the SLK 55 is such an underrated car in general to be honest Jo, and to an extent you're also guilty of that because you were surprised by its performance against the Jag.

Despite the lack of headline bhp figures, they're a much safer buy than an SL for similar money in my opinion.

Build quality goes to the F, no doubt!

Lovely quality cabin.

Roof down, problem sorted :)

I killed it Bruno ;-) and it was mapped too.

So did I ! Chap driving it was a bit gutted as he had his other half in the car too and I suspect he thought it would be no contest :)

Driver was a nice guy and said it was mapped to 600+

incredibly comfortable.

For me I can't sit in any Jag for more than 15mins due to the lack of lumber support proved by their seats, which can be seen in your photo..

I know taste is a personal thing but I am not convinced the F is as good looking

Looks great to me, but the seat and Jags lack of driver involvement make it an impossibility..

He nearly took out the tent as well lost it on launch and went 90degree to the right.

This one has lumber support. (Gas seats) I sat in them, drove the car and found them to be really supportive. I'm not fat either :D Love the looks - not keen on the rear end..

Ssshhhhh don't let everyone know this.
It's our best kept secret.

Since we had this race, he's trying to swap his for the V8 version, ha!

He now also has a bit more respect for my SLK55.

He loves his Jags & Astons, he won't think about an AMG.

Took him to MB world to try and show him what he's missing, he went round in an E63S and he wasn't v impressed.... His loss ;)

Well he went and swapped it for the 550hp V8 AWD convertible!

I'm not even going to mess with it, I've been out in it, I've driven it, the thing is mental, the sound is out of this world, totally different beast to the V6 S (380hp) much much better in every way!

A few snaps I took of it tonight:

Mental piece of machinery!
