Had the chance to sit in the SL55 safety car whilst at AMG factory this week (they have two and both come back to AMG after every F1). The vehicle had the deepest Recaro bucket seats I've ever seen, and full carbon fibre dash and door panels. The car also had up rated front brakes (bigger than the standard 8 pots&#33 and a modified front spoiler lip to help cool the brakes.

The car had the same 500bhp engine as normal SL55's however the exhaust was straight through with no cats or resonators and was very loud - not 'public' road legal thus why the car was not registered.

Not much more to say, just that it was one beautiful car!

Saw the very cars in the flesh today at Silverstone - one was wizzing around the track with all lights and strobes flashing, the other on a the MB merchandise stand next to one of David Coulthard's spares.

I see it's only got the basic wheel centre caps, not like my posh new ones!!

I always said you had good taste when it came to wheel centre caps Dave.
