Half an AMG kit but a very interesting car.

EDIT. Looking closely it's a LHD and therefore pointless! I thought a Japanese market car would be RHD. D-oh!

its got gen II front and rear bumpers, but is missing the skirts. But as you say LHD, so might as well just go for a 500E

For those of you who don't have a mbworld.org, login, the car's also appeared on PistonHeads :)

I generally like it. Assuming they are correct about the stage 3 AMG engine upgrade, power isn't far off an E500/500E. I does need gen 2 side skirts, though. I'm also no fan of that style of AMG alloy wheel.

Standard practice for them to specify LHD to show it's a prestigious imported car.

Yeh, it was probably ordered by a bloke with lots of tattoos and short pinkie fingers

Just spotted in this on PH, nearly posted a new thread, but saw this first, hmmm, tis very nice...:)

400's + 420's were a standard factory model in LHD markets and I've read posts of owners having them in Germany, USA etc etc.....if you go onto www.mobile.de there are lots of 400's and 420's for sale

I'm not that convinced its as AMG as its claimed to be...why the AMG Vin plate on the door pillar and it looks like a stuck on plate, which I would have thought would have been on the slam panel and either screwed or riveted in....could it just be a 400/420 with AMG bits added to it and at this money I think I would still prefer a 500E.

I could be completely wrong....just my suspicious mind!
