Hi,

My e350cdi turbo seems to be on its way out.

At times it's fine at times not responding

I've seen videos of VW turbos being resuscitated with Mr Muscle etc

Was wondering if there are any MB rescue procedures worth trying?

Was wondering if a sensor might be faulty but no engine light. Could sensor or turbo go without a light?

I can't commnet directly on MB turbos, but I've dealt with an Audi turbo that was clogged up and couldn't decide whether to work properly or drop into limp mode.

Forget Mr Muscle or any other snake oil solutions, they're all just pants. The only way to clear carbon build up is to remove the turbo, split the casing and get stuck in with emery paper, parafin and a brass scraper. Either that, or weapons grade explosive is the only faster way to get the stuff off. But oven cleaner, it's as much use as a chocolate fireguard.

Is it definitely the turbo? Or is limp mode kicking in?

Limp mode could prevent turbo kicking in

Get the codes read, preferably from an MB specific machine and go from there, will save time and money.

its booked in at my local indy. Will report back.
