I'm sure I've seen one of the Dimblebys in a green S600 around town.

Didn't John Lennon have a 600 like Clarksons?

Tim Henman ( British tennis player-retd) was officially sponsored to drive Mercedes at one time.
Lisa Stansfield (a well known Chanteuse from Rochdale) used to have a Blueblack SL back i'nt 90's Don't ask how I know this.;)

Lennon had a 600 Pullman, decorated with psychedelic flowers and so on. Paul McCartney had a blue W126 500 SEL in the eighties.

Oh, also remember seeing the late Sir Harry Seycombe in a 450 SEL of 1979 vintage.

Princess Di had this R129

No one has mentioned Princess Diana and her nice SL

John

How weird that Bill and I mentioned that together??? Spooky

That was a sneaky edit John, wonder why it doesn't show "edited"?!

till "the establishment" made her buy a British Car--- a Jaguar XJS-- IIRC:(

She will of course always be associated with an S class Mercedes--sad that if she and Dodie had been wearing seat belts they would almost certainly have survived the fatal crash in the Paris Tunnel since if you have to drive into a concrete pillar at great speed -an S CLASS Mercedes was probably the best car in the world to do it in at the time.:(

Well, in Top Gear they quoted a whole list of Merc owners the other day - most of them vicious dictators.

Quik Draw McGraw rules okay  :)

I submitted my post, saw yours with exactly the same time of submission and instantly made the edit.

John

How about Lewis Hamilton and his GL420 CDI?
Prince Naseem for having had an SLR
