Did some rummaging in the music box (which is several piles of CD's carefully stacked in random areas of the house. some less accessable than others and with the priscision positioning of carefree flinging)
anyhow.
Celion Dion. Track titles, "I surrender", from the CD " a new day has come". If you have a subwoofer this track comes alive. and in the dark it really does have an effect on the fairer sex!!!
If you can get it and stand the self opinionted cak it spouts. Lee Greenwoods "God Bless the USA" from his CD "The Patriot" is a really good track and comes alive in a good system. And if you go to Las Vegas they play it outside the Bellagio whilst the fountain dances. Fab track nonethe less.
All the tracks from Roger Waters CD's " Amused to death" and " hitchikers" and if you listen to pink floyds "The final Cut" CD you will see who they follow on. Plus thats got some good bits in too. all will have sounds that show how good your speakers really are. and Pink Floyd/waters tend to use quiet and loud bits so it gets them having to work for a living.
Voices by Vangelis. CD voices.
"Bedshaped" By Vittorio Grigolo from his album "In the Hands of Love"
"Open Up" and if you can get a copy the full Vocal Mix of "Open up" by Lydon and Leftfield. Cracking track gives your speakers a deep base to play.
"Cruel" By John Lydon too. Both above tracks on John Lydons' Best of British CD.
And if you want to give your speakers a good work out, then the following:
Mozarts Piano Concerto No 21 in C.
Beethovens Symphony no6 (Pastoral)
Verdi's Grand March (Triumphal March) from the opera Aida, In fairness however this is best heard live at the Metropolian Opera House, New York. And its my ring tone!!
you really cant beat classical music for finding out how good your speakers are, and exposing any weaknesses. The explore the total findess of your speakers from low bass right up to high trebles and stuff.
